Change for Life

Our Change for Life Ambassadors attended the Derby and Derbyshire Change for Life Conference in Matlock. There they met Jenna Downing the World Champion for Inline Skating.

Making a film!

Children from Year 5 have worked with children from Ashover Primary School in Derbyshire in producing a DVD, alongside Derby City and Derby County FC, which promotes reading, writing and maths. Our children interviewed children from Ashgate Primary and Pear Tree Infant School about why reading, writing and maths are important. Also Derby County player Simon Dawkins came to talk about his experiences as a child.

Simon Dawkins brought an autographed Derby County shirt to be used as a raffle prize for children in KS2 during the Summer Term 2015.

Road Safety Talk

Bowmoor and Kirkland arranged for Phill Hogg, Paratriathlete, to come into school and talk to the children about road safety. Bowmoor and Kirkland also provided all the children in school with florescent vests so they can be seen in the dark.

Football Plus

A mixed team took part in the Football Plus Tournament.

Cyclo Cross 19th March

A great day for Year 5 and 6 Pupils who were able to race on proper Cyclo Cross Bikes. Cycle Derby came to school with their transit van full of bikes, and safety gear and the race was on. see if you can spot yourself in these action shots.

Derby County Senior Executive talks about his role at the club

Brandon Furse, Head of Ticketing Analytics and Technology, came to the school to talk to year 4,5 and 6 Pupils about the role he performs at Derby County. Brandon gave a very passionate account of how he didn’t let his dyslexia hold him back in his work, and that he had adapted throughout his career to take opportunities when they came his way. Never be afraid of taking a risk and enjoy being part of a team was the message he gave to the pupils. At the end of the talk Brandon answered many questions for the children, and left a very big impression with them and their teachers. After Brandon had finished the ever popular Rammie answered questions on his job with the Rams with the help of Isaac his driver.
